Mini-Hub is a micro-computer controlled local distribution system to provide cable television and other services for urban high-rise environment in major metropolitan areas. The system is fully addressable and uses state-of-theart fiber optic technology to provide improved security and signal quality. The block diagram of the basic MiniHub system is shown in Figure 1. It consists of five major components:
- Keypad
- Residential Interface Unit (RIU)
- Central Distribution Unit (CDU)
- Fiber Network
- Subscriber Program Controller (SPC)
