Why should we be interested in UHF CATV? The most obvious reason is the need for more channel space. There are 70 channels between 470 MHz and 890 MHz. A capacity of 20 channels is becoming fairly common in new CATV systems, and if you want to provide more than twelve some of the channels must be converted to UHF. If there is to be a further increase above 20 in the future, the UHF octave is the only place to go.
