Elie - An Integrated Broadband Communication System Using Fiber Optics (1983)

An integrated fiber optics distribution system has been installed in the rural communities of Elie and St. Eustache, Manitoba. The system provides single-party telephone, cable TV, FM stereo and Te-lidon videotex services to 150 households in the community. The paper gives a technical description of the trial system and summarizes the results obtained to date.
